Theory and Practice of Heat Treatment
The discipline examines the patterns of changes in the physico-chemical and mechanical properties of materials depending on their phase composition and structure, which in turn are formed depending on their chemical composition and processing modes; the organization of work on heat treatment of metals; rational methods of using technologies for heat treatment of metals and alloys; The course is presented in sections: the structure of steel, structural transformations in steel during heating and cooling, types of heat treatment, development of technology for heat treatment of alloy steels and non-ferrous metals; surface hardening of steel products. The course is focused on obtaining the necessary theoretical information and practical skills in heat treatment in order to impart the required set of properties (mechanical, physico-chemical, operational) to parts and semi-finished products, as well as to improve the manufacturability of the material in the manufacture of products.
